Two important things to know to become a developer

Many have tried to be self-trained developers. While some have been successful, others are not so lucky.

Anytime we go on the internet, we tend to see too much information about everything, especially when it comes to your field (as a Software Developer). There are different types of tutorials with everyone using a different approach. For some people, that’s where the confusion comes in.

1.Pick a Stack and Focus on it.

The mistake most beginner developers make is that they are so eager to learn and because of that, they tend to want to know so much and devour so many pieces of information and they are at a disadvantage. When you decide to come to a developer, pick one tutorial FRONT-END or BACKEND because each of those is very wide and has varieties of languages and frameworks under them. Never feel obligated to know everything at once, pick something you really enjoy and check every information there is to know about it. There are many tutorial videos, and websites; netnaija, and Edureka on YouTube, while for practical tutorials you can use Freecodecamp.org or codeacademy.com.

2.Join Your Stack community.

“There is nothing new under the sun” is what they are and it’s true, I said this because there are already a group of people in many fields, look for a set of people or an Individual and Join them for mentoring. This is because there will be obstacles and one of the best ways to overcome them is by having a set of individuals you can always go to for help and that is one of the ways I know in moving forward OR that is one of the ways that helps you in moving forward.
